Senior Engineering Manager (Java/Spring Boot)

hirify.global is a product company developing a specialized Transport Management System (TMS) for shippers.

What you will do

• Translate product requirements into well-scoped work and hold the team to delivery milestones.
• Set the technical vision and manage the roadmap for strategic technical debt.
• Guide architecture and code-quality decisions for the Java/Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RabbitMQ backend.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching to drive career growth for engineers.
• Own headcount planning, hiring, and onboarding processes for the squad.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to communicate roadmaps, trade-offs, and risks.

Requirements

• English: Advanced level (C1) required for speaking and writing.
• At least 3 years of experience managing teams of 5-15 people.
• 5+ years of experience in software development as an Individual Contributor.
• 3+ years of experience as a Senior Engineer on Java/Spring web backends.
• Demonstrated success in delivering large projects using Lean/Agile practices.

Nice to have

• Previous management experience in rapidly growing startups.
• Experience implementing engineering processes such as code reviews and levels and ladders.
• Expertise in designing and operating critical, high-risk systems.
• Hands-on experience with Metabase and Datadog.
