What you will do

• Lead and grow the engineering organization, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Define and execute the engineering strategy in partnership with executive leadership.
• Establish engineering standards, development processes, and a culture of technical excellence.
• Provide architectural leadership across backend systems, infrastructure, and customer-facing products.
• Build scalable systems capable of supporting rapid user growth while maintaining reliability and security.
• Remain technically engaged through architecture reviews and hands-on development when appropriate.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Previous experience in technical leadership roles such as Head of Engineering or Engineering Director.
• Strong background in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken).
• Working knowledge of U.S. laws and regulatory considerations (privacy, security, compliance).
• Experience operating in fast-paced startup environments with high autonomy.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and MongoDB.
