What you will do

• Own and manage the full lifecycle of customer, vendor, and partner agreements, including SaaS, API, and data licensing contracts.
• Advise engineering and product teams on legal issues regarding AI/ML, document automation, and financial data handling.
• Ensure compliance with financial services regulations, including state lending laws, fair lending, and BSA/AML.
• Partner with InfoSec on data privacy compliance (CCPA, GLBA) and incident response.
• Support corporate governance, equity matters, and the preparation of board materials.
• Optimize legal operations by implementing and piloting AI-powered legal tools.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 7+ years of legal experience, including time at a top law firm and in-house at a technology or financial services company.
• Strong expertise in commercial contracts, specifically SaaS, API, and platform agreements.
• Practical knowledge of data privacy and security frameworks, such as CCPA and GLBA.
• Demonstrated experience using legal AI tools for contract review or research.
• Ability to operate independently and drive issues to closure with a high sense of urgency.

Nice to have

• Experience at a fintech, lending platform, or financial data company.
• Background advising on AI/ML product development or AI governance.
• Experience supporting fundraising, M&A, or other corporate transactions.
• Familiarity with mortgage or small business lending workflows.
