TL;DR
Process Control Authority Engineer (Aerospace): Ensuring engineering deliverables comply with approved procedures, customer requirements, and aerospace quality standards with an accent on governance, traceability, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. Focus on reviewing technical evidence, managing non-conformances and corrective actions, and guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams through regulated delivery processes.

Location: Derby, United Kingdom; Midlands region. Flexible working may be available depending on the role. The position may require Security Clearance and completion of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.

What you will do

  • Govern the application of approved engineering procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Review engineering deliverables for compliance with customer requirements, internal processes, and quality expectations.
  • Verify completion and recording of required checks, reviews, approvals, and supporting evidence.
  • Support delegated authority, signatory governance, audits, customer reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Identify process risks, compliance gaps, and non-conformances, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coach engineering teams and promote standardisation, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles, governance frameworks, and controlled processes.
  • Experience in quality assurance, process compliance, or technical assurance.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, document control, and evidence management.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and quality management activities.
  • Ability to manage risks, issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience; Security Clearance may be required.

  • Knowledge of aerospace standards such as SABRe, AS13100, or airworthiness requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience influencing and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
