Robotics Engineer

Location: Bay Area, California, with an office in Seoul, Korea; the role includes hardware bring-up, physical robot validation, production deployment, and field-site work.

Salary: $98,000–$305,000 annually, plus equity compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, configure, and validate software for robotic systems across navigation, motion planning and control, SLAM, perception, manipulation, and high-level behaviors.
• Write and maintain production-grade C++ and Python code for robotic platforms.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and compute; lead hardware bring-up, calibration, and validation on physical robots.
• Deploy and monitor robotic solutions in production environments and field sites, ensuring reliability and robust performance.
• Test, troubleshoot, and debug failures across hardware, software, and model layers, including edge-case reproduction.
• Collaborate with ML, robotics, hardware, operations, and R&D teams to deploy models, improve algorithms, and maintain documentation and tooling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, master's, or higher degree in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in robotics application development, system integration, or field deployment.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying software on real robots.
• Working knowledge of ROS, ROS2, or another robotics middleware platform.
• Strong systems-level understanding of robotic software modules, interfaces, and hardware interactions.

Nice to have

• Technical depth in navigation, motion planning and control, SLAM, perception or computer vision, or manipulation.
• Experience integrating machine learning models into robotic systems.
• Background in autonomous systems such as robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, or industrial automation.
• Experience with vision systems, simulation tools, sensor integration and calibration, embedded systems, or real-time systems.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, system design, analysis, and problem-solving.
