Manager, Operations Strategy (Data and AI Governance)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end program management for data and AI governance initiatives, including sprints, progress tracking, and steering committee reporting.
• Coordinate Engineering, IT, Security, Legal, Data, and other stakeholders while mapping dependencies and sequencing priorities.
• Set governance framework implementation strategy and define success metrics for the program.
• Translate governance requirements into operational access-management, review, remediation, and technical-hardening processes.
• Lead technical deep dives across Okta, Databricks, and back-office systems, and establish standards for new systems.
• Maintain an AI model and use-case inventory and partner with Legal to operationalize regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a fast-growing technology company, strategy or management consulting, or an equivalent environment.
• Experience with data governance, including data tagging, classification, and ownership.
• Experience coordinating access-management initiatives, reviewing sensitive-data access, identifying risks, and driving remediation.
• Demonstrated ability to run programs end to end, facilitate sprints, map dependencies, report progress, and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; the role is based in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial-services or payments regulations and operationalizing regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AI governance frameworks and privacy or AI regulations.
• Certifications such as CIPP or AIGP.
• Familiarity with identity and access-management tools such as Okta and modern data platforms such as Databricks.
• Experience in high-growth environments with fast iteration cycles and changing priorities.
