Manager, Operations Strategy (Data and AI Governance)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $140K–$170K base annually, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end program management for cross-functional data and AI governance initiatives.
• Run sprints, map dependencies, track progress, and report to steering committees.
• Set governance framework strategy and define metrics to measure program success.
• Translate governance and regulatory requirements into operational processes for access reviews, management, and technical hardening.
• Lead technical deep dives across Okta, Databricks, and back-office systems.
• Maintain an AI model and use-case inventory and drive requirements through design, review, and approval.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in a fast-growing technology company, strategy or management consulting, or an equivalent environment.
• Experience with data governance, including data tagging, classification, ownership, and access management.
• Experience reviewing sensitive-data access, identifying risks, and driving remediation.
• Demonstrated ability to run programs end to end, including sprint facilitation, dependency mapping, progress reporting, and stakeholder alignment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience interpreting regulatory requirements in financial services or payments.
• Experience with AI governance frameworks and privacy or AI regulations.
• Familiarity with Okta, Databricks, and certifications such as CIPP or AIGP.
• Technology, financial services, or high-growth company experience.
