What you will do

• Lead firmware architecture and design for transport, wireless protocols, and software stacks for embedded devices from concept to production.
• Design, implement, and scale low-latency RF/wireless communication protocols.
• Architect modular and reusable firmware frameworks that scale across multiple platforms and product lines.
• Serve as the technical point of accountability for wireless accessories, coordinating between hardware, platform software, audio, and security.
• Manage silicon and ODM partners, evaluating combo-SoC roadmaps and resolving firmware defects.
• Mentor senior engineers toward staff and principal levels and raise the design-review standards for the organization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
• Industry-level expertise with RF/wireless systems (e.g., Bluetooth, low-latency audio).
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded firmware architectural patterns.
• Experience with ARM microcontrollers and low-power system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Must be based in or able to work in San Mateo, CA, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with wireless audio or ultra-low latency systems.
• Experience working with external development partners or ODMs.
• Experience with kernel or driver development (Linux, Windows, etc.).
• Proven track record of scaling engineering processes and mentoring teams.
