What you will do

• Design and build functional prototypes for UAS subsystems, iterating based on flight test feedback and mission requirements.
• Create schematics and layouts for power distribution, sensor interfaces, payload controllers, and communication modules using Altium or KiCad.
• Assemble, debug, and validate new PCBs, developing test procedures to verify reliability under flight conditions.
• Write technical documentation and prepare fabrication and assembly data for manufacturers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers.

Requirements

• Experience with PCB design software such as Altium or KiCad.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, RP2040).
• Embedded programming experience in Rust, Arduino, Python, or C++.
• Knowledge of power electronics circuits, including buck/boost converters and BMS.
• Experience using EE Lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DC loads.
• Proven ability to apply technical skills outside the classroom via personal projects, research, or prior work experience.
