Location: Hybrid (Portsmouth, UK) - 2 days per week onsite required

Salary: GBP 55,000 - 70,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, promoting best practices in automation and QA.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure scalable test coverage.
• Drive test planning, estimation, and testing workshops with stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Establish and maintain test automation and coding standards across the team.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Squish test automation.
• Strong Python scripting and test automation development experience.
• Proven background in test design, execution, and technical leadership.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical military background.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Portsmouth for 2 days per week onsite work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt frameworks and GUI testing and validation.
• Experience working on embedded software or software-controlled products.
• Experience within maritime, navigation, electronics, or other safety-critical industries.
• Familiarity with Agile development environments.
