SQL Server DBA (GIS): Designing, administering, and optimizing enterprise database environments (SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) with an accent on performance tuning and spatial data management. Focus on ensuring database health, availability, and scalability while supporting enterprise applications.
Location: Onsite in Tallahassee, FL

What you will do
- Perform daily database administration, monitoring health, availability, and capacity.
- Design and implement relational database structures and schemas to support application development.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes to resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Administer ESRI SDE Geodatabases and ArcGIS Server environments for GIS support.
- Develop and maintain database administration procedures and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior technical staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of database administration experience.
- Expert-level proficiency with SQL Server 2012+ and Oracle 10g+.
- Strong skills in database design, SQL development, and performance tuning.
- Must be based in or work onsite in Tallahassee, FL.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure SQL and AWS database services.
- Experience administering ArcGIS Server and spatial databases.
- Experience with enterprise data architecture initiatives.
