Applications Engineer (Industrial Heating): Designing and supporting custom electric heating, airflow, controls, and thermal system solutions for OEM and industrial customers with an accent on application engineering, technical sales, and project coordination. Focus on calculating heat transfer, pressure drop, temperature rise, power requirements, and electrical loading while integrating custom designs from quotation through production and delivery.

What you will do
- Develop customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and manage the sales pipeline.
- Review thermal process, heating, airflow, controls, and performance requirements with customers.
- Provide technical recommendations on heater selection, system integration, and control strategies.
- Coordinate customer projects from quotation through production and delivery.
- Perform application calculations covering heat transfer, airflow and pressure drop, temperature rise, power requirements, and electrical loading.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer support teams on custom designs and project transitions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering, applications engineering, product engineering, or technical sales.
- Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, industrial electrical systems, and controls and automation concepts.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software.
- Ability to travel periodically to customer sites and industry events.
Nice to have
- Experience with electric heating technologies, thermal systems, HVAC, industrial process equipment, or industrial controls.
- Knowledge of UL, CE, CSA, or related compliance standards.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, temperature controls, and industrial automation.
- Experience supporting OEM customers or developing custom-engineered industrial products.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms.
