CAD Specialist

What you will do

• Draft topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, and utility survey drawings in accordance with agency standards.
• Process field data and create accurate base maps and digital terrain models.
• Apply NYC agency CAD standards, coordinate systems, and layer naming conventions to project deliverables.
• Coordinate with field crews, project managers, and engineers to resolve discrepancies and maintain data consistency.
• Prepare record maps, easement maps, as-built drawings, and legal description exhibits.
• Organize CAD files and survey data while supporting proposals, QA/QC documentation, and CAD template maintenance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying or civil design.
• Required proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation.
• Experience with New York City and State agency projects, including MTA, DDC, DEP, DOT, and Parks.
• Strong understanding of survey data processing, coordinate systems, and geospatial references.
• Successful completion of fit-for-work testing, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organizational, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Civil Technology, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
