CAD Specialist (AutoCAD Civil 3D)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Draft and produce topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, and utility survey drawings in accordance with agency standards.
• Process field data and generate accurate base maps and digital terrain models.
• Ensure CAD deliverables meet NYC agency CAD standards, coordinate systems, and layer naming conventions.
• Collaborate with field crews, project managers, and engineers to maintain data consistency and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare record maps, easement maps, as-built drawings, and legal description exhibits.
• Organize CAD files and survey data across multiple projects and support proposal and QA/QC efforts through documentation and CAD templates.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying or civil design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Understanding of survey workflows, survey data processing, coordinate systems, and geospatial references.
• Experience with New York City and State agency projects, including MTA, DDC, DEP, DOT, Parks, or similar public agencies.
• Successful completion of fit-for-work testing, including drug and alcohol testing.

• Familiarity with MicroStation.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Civil Technology, or a related field.
