Senior Design Specialist (General Arrangement)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, USA; hybrid workplace with remote work possible. Travel to client facilities may be required up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead complex design and analysis work using advanced engineering technology.
• Create and coordinate multi-discipline General Arrangement models and drawings across Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Electrical scopes.
• Lead internal and client discussions, resolve design coordination issues, and support technical decision-making.
• Interpret codes and standards, perform technical reviews, and improve project quality.
• Coordinate and review the work of others, mentor teammates, and promote continuous improvement.
• Support scope, schedule, budget, client feedback, and safety management.

Requirements

• 2–4 year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of related experience; 15+ years preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of multi-discipline system architectures and the ability to transfer knowledge across systems.
• Experience identifying and resolving undefined issues, reviewing work, and collaborating across disciplines.
• Experience with planning and scheduling tools and QA/QC practices.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360/ACC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work with point clouds, read orthographic drawings, interpret technical specifications, and apply applicable codes and standards; a valid driver’s license is required.

• Leadership and management experience.
• Experience with Plant 3D and Bluebeam.
