Senior Technical Support Engineer (Mining Equipment)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, USA. Requires international travel 20–30% of the time and visits to mine sites.

What you will do

• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and diagnostic guidance for mining trucks worldwide.
• Investigate equipment failures, perform fault tree and root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Write failure reports and manage technical communications, including TSI, ETSI, FIR, PS News, and Flash News materials.
• Own incoming technical issues, identify escalation needs, maintain searchable issue-tracking resources, and monitor problem trends.
• Support supplier meetings, management presentations, customer interventions, and field campaigns to install fleet improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline, plus 8 or more years of experience with mining trucks; equivalent advanced practical experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience working with mining equipment and willingness to expand expertise across multiple technical areas.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for working with field personnel, distributors, customers, senior management, and suppliers.
• Experience with root cause analysis and fault tree analysis, balancing thorough investigation with urgent resolution.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally 20–30% of the time and work around heavy equipment at mine sites and heights.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to lift and move light to medium weights of 10–50 pounds.
