Field Technical Support Engineer (Product Development)

Location: Calama, Chile; primarily operating in the North of Chile with travel to mine sites, including high-altitude locations. The position is described as fully remote, but requires regular on-site technical support and field travel.

What you will do

• Execute technical inspections, wear assessments, and mill liner scanning during shutdowns and operational campaigns.
• Gather on-site technical data and liaise with the Central and SAM Engineering teams on performance analysis and product optimization.
• Support technical investigations and root cause analysis of product performance issues.
• Validate operational and installation conditions and contribute field findings to new designs and product development.
• Build technical relationships with mining customers through ongoing field presence and engineering support.
• Follow occupational health and safety standards during all field activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Execution Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience, including 2–3 years in mining operations, concentrator plants, metallurgy, or related heavy industries.
• Experience with field inspections, shutdown support, and mill liner wear assessment.
• Knowledge of design, 3D modeling, and engineering simulation tools; experience with 3D scanning, point-cloud processing, dimensional surveys, and manual field measurements is valued.
• Physical capacity and full willingness to travel to mine sites, including high-altitude locations, are required.
• Professional English for collaboration and reporting with global teams is highly desirable but not required.
