Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer: National Security Missions (Aerospace): Build mission-level modeling and simulation capabilities for large spacecraft and classified national security missions with an accent on constellation performance, spacecraft subsystem models, and mission assurance. Focus on designing multi-agent simulations, modeling contested environments, analyzing on-orbit anomalies, and extending vehicle control software across the stack.
Location: On-site in Los Angeles, California, in a secure environment; U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required.
Salary: $160,000–$200,000 base salary plus equity.

is a Series C aerospace startup developing high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.
What you will do
- Develop mission-level models and simulations for national security space missions, including operational objectives, environments, and constraints.
- Model constellation capabilities such as network coverage, beam planning, and resilience in contested environments.
- Create simulation infrastructure and physics-based models for propulsion, attitude control, power, and communications systems on 20kW+ spacecraft.
- Develop rapid-deployment software tools, support subsystem integration and testing, and investigate on-orbit anomalies.
- Set technical direction, review designs and code, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance, or TS/SCI held within the last 12 months, plus U.S. citizenship.
- Current or previous Special Access Program access and experience working on classified national security programs in secure or SCIF environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another STEM field.
- At least 5 years of professional modeling and simulation experience.
- Professional development experience with Rust, C++, or a similar compiled language, plus scientific Python, Julia, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Ability to own complex systems end-to-end and guide the work of other engineers.
Nice to have
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
- Mission-level or campaign-level modeling and simulation experience for defense or national security applications.
- Production Rust, simulation system design, Monte Carlo methods, probability and statistics, linear algebra, controls, or orbital mechanics experience.
- Experience with space communications modeling, RF, ground stations, Linux, electronics, computer architecture, or CI/CD systems.
