Location: Tokyo, Japan; onsite work with travel within Japan required. Standard hours are 9:00–18:00 with eligibility for a flex-time system.

What you will do
- Build and scale oncology data partnerships with cancer hospitals and government agencies in Japan.
- Drive ethical review, contractual, and partnership execution processes.
- Develop approaches to maintain and evolve relationships with site partners.
- Coordinate complex projects with legal, product, clinical, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conduct market intelligence and identify opportunities in Japan’s oncology ecosystem.
- Manage partner feedback, processes, budgets, and resources as needed.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience developing healthcare relationships in Japan or working in healthcare consulting, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or healthtech.
- Bilingual written and spoken proficiency in Japanese and English is required, including participation in formal internal and external discussions.
- Knowledge of Japan’s healthcare system, hospitals, private-sector players, government ministries, laws, and regulations.
- Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex cross-functional projects.
- Analytical problem-solving, strategic thinking, market research, and the ability to work effectively across Japanese and Western business cultures.
- Ability to travel within Japan for meetings with partners and stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Expertise in real-world data, real-world evidence, oncology, cancer hospitals, observational research, outcomes research, clinical research, or related products.
- Legal knowledge or understanding of Japan’s APPI and ethical guidelines for medical and health research involving human subjects.
- Healthcare business development experience with providers or pharmaceutical companies.
- Medical, research, or science background.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams in a startup environment.
