Software Engineer (Simulation Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work in the San Jose, CA office three days per week. Hiring is currently registered in AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IA, ID, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VT, VA, and WA. Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required authorization.

Salary: $190,000–$212,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and support in-house simulation services for business development, mission design, operations, and ground and flight software engineering.
• Collaborate with physical-modeling experts to integrate simulation models into complete products.
• Improve simulation products based on feedback from stakeholder teams.
• Work with Software Test specialists to apply simulation tools to testing scenarios.
• Contribute to estimation, planning, and performance goals for the team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• B.S. or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to collaborate with specialized experts on complex, cross-functional products.
• Willingness to work in novel technical domains, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled information under applicable U.S. Government regulations.

Nice to have

• Numerical simulation, statistical analysis, or Software-in-the-Loop simulation experience.
• Knowledge of Julia and orbital satellite operations.
• Linux systems administration and Docker experience.
• Experience with cloud deployment environments, Kubernetes, and virtual instances.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
