Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Sydney, Australia

An early-stage AI company building software that automates complex customer support for fintechs, healthtechs, marketplaces, and delivery services.

What you will do

• Take ownership of complex engineering projects from initial concept through production.
• Build AI-first product capabilities, including user interfaces, data models, and support workflows.
• Work with coding agents as a core development workflow and improve the tooling and feedback systems that support them.
• Make technical decisions across the stack and determine when generated code is ready to ship.
• Lead ambitious, ambiguous initiatives in collaboration with product and design.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers as the team grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production code at a top-tier engineering organization.
• Comfort working across the full stack and making strong technical decisions.
• Experience working with coding agents as a genuine development workflow, beyond autocomplete.
• Ability to lead ambiguous projects through effective implementation and product and design judgment.
• Interest in solving novel AI problems and building meaningful customer support software.
