Staff Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Identify, scope, and lead large technical initiatives that enable core products to scale.
• Design, develop, and own product functionality and infrastructure using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Define roadmaps for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions.
• Balance business priorities, user experience, system reliability, and long-term technical sustainability.
• Support interviewing, hiring, and onboarding engineering teammates in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
• Mentor junior engineers and set a high standard for collaborative engineering culture.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience leading large projects lasting six months or more, including roadmap definition.
• Experience building SaaS products for startup and enterprise users.
• Experience in rapidly scaling startups or large companies with a bias for action.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering teams.
• Curiosity and sound judgment when applying AI to improve engineering efficiency and impact.
