Head of Distribution - Japan Edwards

Location: Hybrid role in Nagareyama, Chiba, Japan, with regular in-office presence.

What you will do

• Develop and execute distribution strategies tailored to the Japanese market.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse logistics and distribution team.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service to align distribution with business objectives and customer satisfaction targets.
• Establish KPIs and performance metrics to improve distribution effectiveness and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Manage external partners, suppliers, and carriers, including contract and service agreement negotiations.
• Introduce logistics innovations and digital tools to increase automation and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in distribution or supply chain leadership.
• Experience in industrial or technical sectors is preferred.
• Proven ability to design and manage complex distribution networks with high service levels.
• Strong leadership experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work with supply chain IT systems and analytics tools.

Nice to have

• Experience working in or with the Japanese market.
• Understanding of Japanese business culture and Japanese language skills.
