Director, Supplier Relations + Performance Management

Location: Santa Ana, CA or Jersey City, NJ; remote and hybrid candidates may be considered. Candidates within a one-hour commute of an office must be onsite most of the time. Up to 30% international travel is required, with a current valid passport.

Salary: $173,000–$208,000 annually, plus possible bonuses, commissions, or other compensation.

What you will do

• Lead global supplier selection, qualification, contracting, segmentation, rationalization, onboarding, and performance management across direct and indirect categories.
• Negotiate complex supplier agreements covering pricing, service levels, capacity, indexation, liability, and termination terms, and run competitive sourcing events.
• Deliver Finance-validated savings and cost avoidance while developing category strategies and multi-year sourcing roadmaps for capacity expansion and new-site launches.
• Design supplier scorecards, KPIs, review cadences, escalation paths, corrective-action plans, and executive business reviews.
• Manage supplier risk, continuity plans, make-versus-buy and dual-source analysis, disruption response, and performance reporting.
• Partner with Operations, Facilities, Quality, Product, Finance, and Legal; standardize supplier data, processes, documentation, and supporting sourcing and contract-management tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain, including 5+ years leading teams and managing managers.
• Direct ownership of a supplier performance management program that was designed or substantially rebuilt.
• Experience negotiating and managing complex, high-value supplier agreements with documented savings and service-level outcomes.
• Experience managing international suppliers and multi-region supply bases, including time zones, currency, and cross-border logistics.
• Strong supply chain analytics skills, including building models, defending the numbers, and translating analysis into executive recommendations.
• Experience building processes in a high-growth environment where the process did not previously exist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with credibility from supplier executives to warehouse-floor personnel.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations.
• CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience supporting high-volume, high-SKU-variability operations in aerospace, automotive, collectibles, or consumer products.
• Experience supporting new facility launches and qualifying local supply bases in new geographies.
