Senior Data Engineer (ETL)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (ETL/Python): Maintaining and enhancing large-scale enterprise BI pipelines for a major US media company with an accent on ETL orchestration and data transformation logic. Location: Must be based in the European Timezone. Some flexibility toward US East Coast hours is appreciated.

What you will do

• Maintain and enhance 123 SSIS jobs across 8 data domains to ensure platform stability.
• Manage data ingestion from diverse sources including S3, Azure Blob, SFTP, and APIs.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve pipeline failures in a live production environment.
• Develop and optimize data transformation logic and apply data modelling principles.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and observability improvements.
• Support the ongoing infrastructure migration from IBM Cloud to AWS.

Requirements

• Proven experience in ETL pipeline design and maintenance in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as SSIS, Prefect, Airflow, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data ingestion patterns via cloud storage, SFTP, and APIs.
• Must be located within the European Timezone.
• Timezone flexibility toward US East Coast hours is required.

Nice to have

• Specific familiarity with SSIS or Prefect.
• Experience with AWS data services such as S3 and Glue.
• Background in media, ad-tech, or content analytics data.
• Experience supporting platform migrations (e.g., IBM Cloud to AWS).
