Sr. Corporate Counsel

TL;DR

Sr. Corporate Counsel (Mexico and Latin America): Providing independent legal support for commercial, compliance, regulatory, transactional, and dispute matters across the Mexico subsidiary and Latin American business with an accent on contract negotiation, subsidiary legal ownership, and risk management. Focus on interpreting evolving local regulations, coordinating litigation and external counsel, and aligning regional operations with centralized legal frameworks.

Location: Mexico City, Mexico; hybrid work environment. Periodic travel to headquarters or other locations may be required.

Salary: MXN 1,161,000–1,545,000 per year for typical new hires; full range up to MXN 2,092,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day and strategic legal advice to business stakeholders in Mexico and Latin America.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, sales, marketing, licensing, lease, vendor, and other transactional agreements.
• Serve as the primary legal contact for the Mexico subsidiary, triaging matters and escalating high-risk or strategic issues.
• Manage litigation, disputes, regulatory matters, outside counsel, and local compliance activities.
• Research legal developments and recommend practical solutions aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance.
• Maintain contract templates, policies, and guidance while coordinating with headquarters and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Law degree or equivalent, with a valid Mexican professional license or active eligibility to obtain one.
• Eight or more years of relevant legal experience, including transactional work and litigation or dispute management.
• Experience supporting multinational organizations or subsidiary operations across cultures and time zones.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, legal research, analytical, and independent judgment skills.
• Native or bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required, including drafting and reviewing legal documents in both languages.
• Pragmatic, business-oriented communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with intellectual property, marketing, sales, licensing, employment, regulatory, or consumer-facing matters.
• Native or fluent Portuguese.
