Engineering Team Lead (Go/Python)

What you will do

• Lead a distributed team of Go and Python engineers, deliver plans, run the release cadence, and report progress and risks.
• Guide the architecture of inbound filtering, outbound SMTP delivery, panel integrations, and supporting data systems.
• Review designs and code while setting standards for testing, observability, capacity, and safe production rollouts.
• Own SLOs, alerting, deliverability health, on-call operations, incident command, and post-mortems.
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers through regular one-to-ones, goal setting, and performance reviews.
• Coach the team on effective use and review of coding agents in AI-assisted development workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years leading engineers with people-management responsibility in a product company.
• Strong Linux skills and the ability to read and review production Go and/or Python code and debug live systems.
• Experience shipping and operating distributed backend services under production load, including pager and incident responsibilities.
• Ability to learn complex technical domains quickly and make credible architectural decisions.
• Practical experience with observability and data tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, or equivalents.
• Professional English proficiency and availability to work EU hours are required.

Nice to have

• Email infrastructure experience, including SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, rDNS, IP reputation, warm-up, RBLs, and feedback loops.
• Experience with Rspamd, SpamAssassin, Postfix, Exim, Halon, cPanel, WHM, or related hosting platforms.
• Exposure to machine learning model training data, evaluation metrics, and detection-system tuning.
• Experience managing incidents and escalations with external partners.
