Product Owner (Email Security)

Location: Remote from Warsaw, Madrid, Podgorica, Tbilisi, Sofia, or Yerevan; the role also supports working from any location worldwide. Availability during EU hours is required.

hirify.global develops Imunify360 and email security products that protect websites and help hosting providers manage inbound and outbound email threats.

What you will do

• Lead a senior remote squad of 7–8 Go and Python engineers, deliverability and anti-spam specialists, and data professionals.
• Turn the product backlog into an engineering plan, run the release cadence, and report delivery status, risks, ownership, and deadlines.
• Guide architecture decisions, review designs and code, and maintain quality standards for mail flow, rate limiting, quarantine, authentication, testing, observability, and safe rollouts.
• Own production health, including SLOs, alerting, capacity, sender reputation, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, rDNS, and RBL monitoring.
• Command product incidents, coordinate remediation, communicate with partners, and publish post-mortems within 24 hours.
• Develop engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, mentoring, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years leading engineers with people-management responsibility in a product company.
• Strong Linux proficiency, production-code review skills in Python, Go, or another modern high-level language, and experience debugging live systems.
• Experience shipping and operating distributed backend services under production load, carrying a pager, and running incidents.
• Ability to master complex technical domains, make architectural decisions, and work with observability and data tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, or Redash.
• Experience with people leadership, ML-driven systems, model evaluation and operations, and agentic or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Professional English proficiency and availability during EU hours are required.

Nice to have

• Email infrastructure knowledge, including SMTP, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, rDNS, IP reputation, warm-up, RBLs, and feedback loops.
• Experience with Rspamd, SpamAssassin, Postfix, Exim, Halon, cPanel/WHM, or other hosting control panels.
• Knowledge of ML training data quality, evaluation metrics, and detection-system tuning.
• Experience with incident and escalation management involving external partners.
