Regulatory Counsel (Digital Regulation)

TL;DR

Regulatory Counsel (Digital Regulation): Advising on global platform laws and regulations for digital products with an accent on online safety, privacy, and European regulatory compliance. Focus on interpreting the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act, supporting regulatory investigations, building regulator relationships, and developing technology-first legal processes using AI.

Location: London. Default-together policy requires working in the office 4+ days per week.

What you will do

• Advise on global platform laws and regulations, particularly the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act.
• Build relationships with regulators and other regulatory stakeholders.
• Manage requests for information and support regulatory investigations with internal colleagues and outside counsel.
• Assess legal and regulatory requirements for new products, services, and technologies.
• Develop global regulatory compliance and go-to-market strategies with legal and business stakeholders.
• Partner with Policy, Communications, engineering, and product teams on consultations, training, legislation, and technology-first legal processes.

Requirements

• UK or EU legal qualification, or a foreign equivalent.
• 4+ years of legal practice experience, including training years.
• Significant experience advising on online safety and digital regulation in Europe.
• Deep understanding of European platform regulation, privacy law, and digital legislation.
• Experience advising on the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act.
• Strong legal judgment, communication skills, and ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• In-house experience advising on safety, privacy, technology, or platform matters.
• Experience building relationships with regulators and coordinating compliance strategies across jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of artificial intelligence and related laws.
