TL;DR

Head of Projects (Product & Technology): Leading project management across strategic change initiatives and complex product development programmes with an accent on delivery governance, resource planning, and predictable execution. Focus on developing Project Managers, resolving delivery risks and dependencies, and improving project management standards across a complex matrix organisation.

Location: London, UK, with a 50% hybrid working model averaging two to three days onsite. Flexible working patterns may be accommodated where feasible.

What you will do

• Lead the Project Management function across Product & Technology and oversee delivery across strategic initiatives.
• Coach and manage Project Managers while building a high-performing delivery culture.
• Oversee planning, governance, risks, dependencies, milestones and delivery metrics across projects and programmes.
• Own resource management, workforce planning and delivery capacity forecasting.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Portfolio Governance and business leaders to improve delivery predictability.
• Act as a senior escalation point and drive continuous improvement in delivery standards and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading project delivery teams in complex technology, digital product or transformation environments.
• Experience managing Project Managers or multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, hybrid and project-based delivery methodologies.
• Experience delivering complex business and technology change initiatives.
• Experience with resource management, workforce planning, governance frameworks and performance management.
• Professional project management certification such as APM, PRINCE2, AgilePM, CSM or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience in media, publishing, digital subscription or technology-led organisations.
• Experience in portfolio management environments.
• Knowledge of Lean delivery, product operating models and modern delivery practices.
