TL;DR

Product Designer (AI): Designing and shipping user-facing workflows for a data curation platform used by ML engineers and researchers, with an accent on technical workflows, data visualization, and enterprise-grade design systems. Location: Redwood City, California; in-office four days per week. Relocation assistance is available for employees moving to the Bay Area.

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design key platform features and components from concept through production.
• Create workflows for configuring, launching, monitoring, and intervening in long-running data curation and training jobs.
• Design visualizations that make dataset composition, quality, and cost easy to understand.
• Establish and evolve the product’s design system, style guide, illustration language, and interaction patterns.
• Produce wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity interfaces, icons, illustrations, and motion assets.
• Partner with engineering, research, leadership, and customers on product strategy, user research, testing, and implementation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing digital products with a portfolio demonstrating strong UX, UI, and interaction design.
• High visual craft and the ability to independently deliver production-ready interface details, iconography, illustration, and motion.
• Experience creating scalable design systems and simplifying complex technical concepts into intuitive experiences.
• Experience designing data-dense interfaces, data visualizations, and workflows for enterprise technical users, ML engineers, researchers, or scientists.
• Strong communication skills, proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools, and the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams.
• Comfort working in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment while balancing immediate delivery with long-term product vision.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing designs with HTML and CSS and shipping front-end code alongside engineers.
• Experience using AI tools to prototype and implement designs.
• Experience as an early designer at a startup.
