Senior Software AI Developer

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.

Salary: CAD 107,000–157,300 annually for Canada-based roles. Offers may vary by experience and geographic location and may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, debug, document, and maintain platform components and AI features.
• Build secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable software for millions of users.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and operations teams on platform design and roadmap delivery.
• Review code and technical documentation, mentor teammates, and promote engineering best practices.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements, estimates, architecture, and reusable modules.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks while reducing technical debt and resolving production issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience building APIs with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with AI agent tools and frameworks, including building and integrating MCP tools.
• Strong knowledge of REST API standards, Graph APIs, and web services.
• Experience taking requirements through design and building reusable modules.
• Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and solving software problems.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic experiences and AI automation.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Strands, and AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, RDS, and ElastiCache.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale production systems and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, continuous integration and delivery, and modern SDLC practices.
