MCP/AI Developer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 99,000–145,200 annual base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain tested MCP tools, agentic features, and supporting front-end and back-end services.
• Integrate LLMs and models through APIs and SDKs to deliver agentic workflows with attention to correctness, latency, and cost.
• Develop workflow guardrails, including human-in-the-loop steps, traceability, and error handling.
• Contribute to automated tests, AI evaluation harnesses, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Debug agent logic, APIs, and web UI while collaborating with senior engineers and QA.
• Work with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical tasks and identify risks early.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on software development experience in at least one mainstream programming language; TypeScript or JavaScript is preferred.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern web framework such as React.
• Understanding of testing, debugging, code review, Git, and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience or exposure to LLMs or AI APIs, including prompting, model or agent APIs, or basic agentic/RAG features.
• Agile experience, strong problem-solving skills, and strong written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Node.js back-end development and RESTful APIs.
• Model Context Protocol, agent frameworks, or tool-calling experience.
• AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
• Knowledge of embeddings, vector search, RAG, or model evaluation.
• 2D/3D rendering, visualization, WebGL, or WebGPU experience.
