What you will do

• Build and ship features and components for production platform services used across hirify.global engineering.
• Own well-scoped projects from requirements through production and propose technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and collaboration with senior engineers.
• Operate owned services, participate in the on-call rotation, and investigate incidents beyond existing runbooks.
• Automate repetitive operational work and communicate progress, risks, and blockers in an async-first environment.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience writing services in Go, or strong proficiency in another systems language with the motivation to learn Go.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals, including Pods, Deployments, Services, and Operators.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in distributed systems and service communication at scale.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and maintain high standards for testing, observability, and operability.
• Ability to work remotely from Portugal.

Nice to have

• Experience with Crossplane, Kubernetes Operators, or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Experience moving between projects, codebases, or scrum teams according to changing priorities.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to develop features, debug systems, and optimize codebases.
• Background in cloud-based SaaS or developer platforms, familiarity with hirify.global Stack or other observability tools, or open-source contributions.
• Experience supporting production services through an on-call rotation.
