What you will do

• Serve as the SME for Kubernetes deployments, troubleshooting, and production issues across environments.
• Design and run AKS clusters (private clusters, managed identities, RBAC), including scaling, upgrades, node pools, and lifecycle management.
• Own AKS networking and integrations (Azure CNI, internal load balancers, ingress controllers, ACR, Key Vault CSI, Azure Monitor, Azure SQL, Kafka/Event Hubs, Storage, private endpoints, DNS/firewall).
• Manage containerized deployments with Docker and Helm, including reusable charts, namespaces, resource quotas, and Azure Policy.
• Harden and secure clusters (policy enforcement, network policies, image scanning) and coordinate vulnerability scanning, triage, prioritization, and remediation.
• Build and operate observability (Grafana stack and Azure-native tooling), define SLIs/SLOs, support CI/CD and GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD), and lead incident response with runbooks and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Ontario, Canada
• 5+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience, including at least 2 years running AKS in production.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes internals (scheduling, networking, storage) and RBAC.
• Hands-on experience with AKS private cluster configuration and Azure CNI networking.
• Experience integrating AKS with Azure PaaS services (ACR, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Kafka/Event Hubs) and troubleshooting network-layer dependencies (DNS, firewall, private endpoints).
• Certifications required: CKA or CKAD, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
