What you will do

• Manage and coordinate the design process for A&E services to ensure compliance with functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.
• Oversee multiple projects, including engineering and critical repairs, collaborating with Architects, consultants, and District personnel.
• Ensure building designs meet LAUSD standards and guidelines for new and modernized educational structures.
• Establish a process to identify and select the most qualified architectural firms based on performance standards.
• Provide clear direction to Architects regarding goals, site requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor project planning and design status to provide findings and recommendations while maintaining budget adherence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering from a recognized college or university.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience managing facilities design or planning and coordination of capital projects.
• Experience in contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.
• At least 4 years of experience specifically in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
• Work must be performed onsite at the client site.

Nice to have

• Valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board.
• Professional Engineer certification by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
