Senior AI Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Vancouver, BC, Canada (at least 3 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Architect production LLM capabilities including advanced RAG pipelines, multi-document reasoning, and dialogue systems.
• Design and implement multi-agent orchestration systems using frameworks like LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Develop LLM evaluation frameworks and automated quality benchmarks to mitigate hallucinations and ensure healthcare compliance.
• Own the prompt engineering strategy, establishing standards for versioned, testable prompt pipelines.
• Lead LLMOps practices including prompt versioning, experiment tracking, and CI/CD for AI pipelines on Azure.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with product, clinical operations, and data teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in production AI/ML systems, with 2-3 years specifically focused on LLMs and GenAI.
• Strong proficiency in Python and software engineering fundamentals (modular design, testing, version control).
• Deep hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic) and advanced prompt engineering techniques.
• Proven experience designing and deploying production RAG systems and agentic workflows.
• Experience with Azure cloud platforms and containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety, grounding, and compliance controls in regulated industries like healthcare or finance.
• Working knowledge of fine-tuning, RLHF, DPO, or parameter-efficient adaptation (LoRA, QLoRA).
• Experience with healthcare data, clinical documentation, or claims workflows.
• Contributions to open-source AI/LLM projects or applied research publications.
