TL;DR
Senior Principal Technical Program Manager (FedRAMP & Public Sector): Leading security-focused technical programs for regulated cloud services across engineering, security, compliance, infrastructure, operations, and product teams with an accent on FedRAMP execution, cloud security, operational readiness, and risk management. Focus on translating regulatory requirements into engineering plans, building scalable program operating models, and facilitating senior-level decisions across complex technical and compliance topics.

Location: Remote-friendly within North America, with optional in-office or hybrid work in San Francisco, Portland, Boston, or Denver. U.S. citizenship or U.S. lawful permanent residency is required due to government contracting and FedRAMP compliance obligations. Travel is approximately 20%; in-person onboarding or identity verification may be required.

Salary: $149,000–$266,200 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles, with potential bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead strategic security programs for FedRAMP and Public Sector cloud initiatives, including planning, execution, dependencies, risks, and leadership reporting.
  • Translate cloud security, compliance, and operational-readiness requirements into engineering plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish program operating models with RACIs, decision forums, execution cadences, escalation paths, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate engineering, security, compliance, infrastructure, operations, product, legal, and business teams.
  • Manage technical, compliance, operational, organizational, and schedule risks, escalating options and recommendations.
  • Facilitate decisions on service onboarding, IAM, third-party services, operational readiness, and secure cloud delivery while coaching TPMs and workstream leads.

Requirements

  • 10+ years leading complex technical initiatives in technical, engineering, or security program management.
  • 5+ years leading cross-functional programs spanning engineering, security, compliance, cloud infrastructure, operations, and product teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate cloud security, compliance, and risk requirements into programs covering IAM, vulnerability management, secure SDLC, incident response, logging, change management, privileged access, encryption, and controls.
  • Working knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, RMF, cloud security, regulated SaaS, or similar frameworks.
  • Technical fluency in cloud platforms, SaaS architecture, IAM, service onboarding, secure SDLC, operational readiness, and incident, change, and problem management.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. lawful permanent residency required. A bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, a master’s degree with 10+ years, or equivalent practical experience is expected.

Nice to have

  • Experience with FedRAMP authorization, continuous monitoring, audit readiness, control implementation, POA&M tracking, or federal cloud operations.
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, DoD IL, CMMC, ITAR, StateRAMP, IRAP, or Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, dashboards, GRC tools, service catalogs, and evidence repositories.
  • Experience leading regulated-cloud onboarding, platform modernization, regionalization, identity modernization, or operational-readiness programs.
  • CISSP, PMP, PgMP, CSM, SAFe, CEH, CRISC, CCSK, or a similar certification.
