Forward Deployed Product Manager, Public Sector (AI)

Location: New York, NY or Washington, DC, United States. Travel to customer sites, including classified facilities, is required.

Base salary: $210,000–$345,000 USD for New York; $200,000–$311,000 USD for Washington, DC.

What you will do

• Own product outcomes across military planning and real-time AI and alerting products for national security customers.
• Translate military planning workflows, modeling and simulation needs, real-time data constraints, and mission priorities into actionable product direction for engineering and platform teams.
• Build trusted relationships with senior military, civilian, mission, and technical stakeholders and serve as the primary escalation point.
• Drive AI and data product deployments from contract to production in classified and operationally constrained environments.
• Distinguish product constraints from execution, integration, policy, and change-management constraints, then drive each blocker to resolution.
• Coordinate Forward Deployed Engineering and Platform Capability teams while identifying expansion opportunities based on demonstrated customer value.

Requirements

• Active TOP SECRET security clearance; TS/SCI eligibility is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in product management, technical program management, or customer-facing product ownership, including senior or staff-level scope and autonomy.
• Direct experience with the U.S. Department of War or the broader U.S. national security community.
• Working knowledge of military planning and modeling or simulation systems, or real-time streaming data systems and production architecture tradeoffs.
• Demonstrated experience shipping AI or data products into large, constrained, classified, or highly regulated organizations, beyond pilots and proofs of concept.
• Technical fluency, strong judgment under pressure, clear communication, customer trust-building, and the ability to drive outcomes across teams without formal authority.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML platforms, agentic capabilities, human-agent interaction, data labeling, RLHF, fine-tuning, or model evaluation pipelines.
• Hands-on familiarity with Kafka, Flink, Kinesis, or similar streaming technologies.
• Startup or early-stage experience, or prior forward-deployed, embedded, consulting, field product management, or solutions engineering experience.
• Prior military service or U.S. Department of Defense civilian experience in operations, planning, or acquisitions.
