Product Manager, Public Sector (AI)

Location: Remote-friendly with required travel, based in the United States and associated with Washington, DC. Staff are expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD

What you will do

• Run discovery with government institutions alongside go-to-market partners to identify where Claude can improve operational workflows.
• Own product decisions for government models, product offerings, and agency workflows built on top of them.
• Identify public-sector needs that should be generalized into Anthropic’s broader product roadmap.
• Help navigate government compliance regimes, including regulated and classified environments.
• Partner with cloud providers, systems integrators, policy, customer success, engineering, research, and applied AI teams.

Requirements

• End-to-end experience shipping successful products, including a product initiated through direct observation of users’ work.
• Ability to influence teams and partner organizations without direct reporting authority.
• Experience building domain intuition quickly across large enterprises.
• Must be a US person for these roles because of US Government agreements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

Nice to have

• Approximately 7+ years of product-building and shipping experience or equivalent scope.
• Experience with government operations, digital services, or products used by public servants.
• Experience taking public-sector or field requirements into successful commercial products.
• Fluency with AI product development, evaluations, and model behavior.
• Experience with FedRAMP, classified, or comparable compliance boundaries, large cloud partners, or systems integrators; an active TS/SCI clearance is relevant for some portfolios.
