Product Manager (AI, Public Sector)

Location: Remote-friendly with required travel; Washington, DC. Staff are currently expected to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time. The role requires being a US person, and some portfolios may require eligibility for a US security clearance.

Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD

What you will do

• Run discovery inside government institutions with go-to-market partners to identify where Claude can support production workflows.
• Own product decisions for government models, product offerings, and agency workflows built on top of them.
• Translate public-sector needs into Anthropic’s broader product roadmap and commercial features.
• Help navigate government compliance regimes, including relevant regulated or classified environments.
• Partner with cloud providers, systems integrators, and internal engineering, research, policy, and customer success teams.

Requirements

• Experience shipping successful products end-to-end, with strong product judgment.
• Experience building products from observing users and their workflows rather than relying only on requirements documents.
• Ability to deliver through cross-functional teams and partners without direct reporting authority.
• Ability to build domain intuition quickly across large enterprises and maintain a fast execution cadence.
• Must be a US person for these roles because of US Government agreements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Roughly 7+ years of product-building and shipping experience or equivalent scope.
• Experience with government operations, digital services, or products used by public servants.
• Experience taking public-sector or field requirements into successful commercial products.
• Fluency with AI products, evaluations, and model behavior as part of the product surface.
• Experience with FedRAMP, classified, or comparable compliance boundaries; large cloud or systems-integration partnerships; or an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
