Head of AI Clinical Excellence

Location: Collegeville, Pennsylvania, United States. Hybrid role requiring residence within commuting distance and on-site work an average of 2.5 days per week. Occasional travel may be required.

Annual base salary: $176,600–$294,300, plus a 20% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the enterprise strategy for AI-enabled clinical excellence across Clinical Development.
• Identify and scale AI applications for trial design, protocol optimization, patient recruitment, trial execution, clinical data review, and portfolio decision-making.
• Partner with digital, data science, and technology teams to design, build, validate, and deploy AI-powered tools and platforms.
• Develop agentic AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, and workflow automation solutions for clinical operations and development teams.
• Establish AI governance, validation, risk management, and regulatory-readiness frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, organizational adoption, external engagement, and collaboration with regulatory agencies, technology providers, and academic partners.

Requirements

• MD with 4+ years of relevant experience, PhD with 5+ years, or MS with 7+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, regulatory, or healthcare organizations.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions in clinical research settings.
• Experience with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Clinical Science, Clinical Data Review, or Regulatory Science.
• Experience leading cross-functional programs involving clinical, regulatory, scientific, and technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of GCP, clinical trial conduct, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements, with excellent executive communication and influencing skills.
• Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Clinical Development, Oncology, Regulatory Science, Data Science, or Clinical Informatics.
• Experience deploying large language models, generative AI, agentic AI systems, or workflow automation platforms in regulated environments.
• Experience interacting with global regulatory agencies such as FDA, EMA, MHRA, PMDA, or Health Canada.
• Enterprise AI transformation experience, a strong publication record, and scientific credibility.
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
