What you will do
- Lead and mentor electrical engineers working on embedded compute and power distribution systems.
- Set technical direction for custom electronics from prototype through scalable, zero-defect production.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability across hardware iterations.
- Manage technical relationships with contract manufacturers, including NPI cycles, line audits, and production issue resolution.
- Partner with OEMs to translate supplier requirements into engineering specifications and integrate hardware into vehicle platforms.
- Maintain functional safety, quality, and long-term field reliability for automotive electrical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs or masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 10+ years of hardware development experience, including leading or mentoring engineers.
- Deep experience with complex PCB design, high-speed signaling, and thermal challenges in autonomous vehicle compute platforms.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, DC-DC conversion, sensor loads, and vehicle power architecture.
- Experience with automotive production processes, including PPAP, APQP, and automotive-grade reliability.
- Ability to work onsite four days per week in Pittsburgh or San Francisco.
Nice to have
- Experience owning contract manufacturer or OEM technical relationships through an NPI cycle.
- Hands-on functional-safety experience under ISO 26262.
- Ability to debug hardware in the lab while also setting high-level technical direction.
