Senior Software Engineer (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan; 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Define high-level software architecture, including non-functional requirements and future technical directions.
• Develop architectural runways covering Enabler Epics, Business Epics, and system-variant roadmaps.
• Lead creation of new software components and re-architecture efforts for evolving requirements.
• Improve software quality, maintainability, scalability, and controller resource utilization.
• Drive Software Structural Quality Assurance and evaluate architectural and code-level improvements.
• Support PI planning, system demos, work acceptance meetings, and architecture synchronization within the Agile framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with software development processes, C/C++ programming, embedded controls, software architecture, and design trade-offs.
• Experience with electrical systems, controls, component development and validation, and controller resource utilization reduction or training.
• Experience in Agile environments, software-defined vehicle architecture, and safety-critical embedded software development under ISO 26262.
• Experience designing vehicle-dynamics control algorithms for steering, brakes, or chassis systems, including CAN and LIN communications.
• Experience with DFMEA, commercial change management, and version-control tools.
