Technology Consultant – HL7 FHIR Integration Consultant (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; must be able to work in the US with sponsorship.

What you will do

• Gather business and technical interoperability requirements with clients and stakeholders.
• Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot HL7 FHIR integrations between healthcare applications and enterprise platforms.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and validate JSON/XML payloads for healthcare data exchange.
• Map legacy healthcare data to FHIR resources such as Patient, Encounter, Observation, Medication, Condition, and Procedure.
• Support solution architecture, testing, deployment, production support, and technical documentation.
• Advise clients on FHIR implementation, security, scalability, data quality, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the United States with sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing healthcare integration solutions using HL7 FHIR.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, web services, JSON and/or XML, and clinical or healthcare information systems.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, analytical troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• HL7 Version 2.x or CDA experience.
• Integration experience with Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, Allscripts, or similar EHR platforms.
• Experience with Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or similar healthcare integration engines.
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, HIPAA, and Agile delivery methods.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, SMART on FHIR, API testing, SQL, Git, Azure DevOps, or Jira.
