TL;DR
Performance Dynamic Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and validating computational models for landing gear systems with an accent on dynamic simulation, load analysis, and performance optimisation. Location: Gloucester, UK; hybrid work with 3 days onsite. Security clearance eligibility and Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks may be required.

What you will do
- Develop computational models and perform dynamic simulations of landing gear systems.
- Calculate static and dynamic loads for design and certification activities.
- Analyse stability, shimmy, modal response, vibration, frequency response, and failure cases.
- Correlate and validate simulation models against test data and operational performance.
- Define performance requirements, simulation plans, methodologies, test requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with design, stress, test, and systems engineering teams to optimise solutions and deliver programmes to quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience in dynamics, performance analysis, simulation, or mechanical systems engineering in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with MSC ADAMS is mandatory.
- Experience developing, analysing, and validating engineering models and simulations.
- Knowledge of dynamic behaviour, system performance, load analysis, and engineering validation methods.
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, AMESim, or equivalent simulation tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, defence, automotive, rail, or other complex engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of landing gear or other safety-critical mechanical systems.
- Experience with testing, verification, validation, system integration, or requirements management.
- Familiarity with certification processes and industry engineering standards.
- Experience in a customer-facing engineering consultancy environment.
