What you will do

• Set up and run test rigs, sensors, and instrumentation to ensure reliable and repeatable data collection.
• Execute detailed test plans using DAQ equipment and software, applying structured problem-solving to find root causes.
• Capture high-quality measurements and observations to produce clear, concise engineering reports.
• Build, configure, and strip pumps and test hardware to enable fault-finding and rapid iteration.
• Maintain lab standards and readiness by driving 6S principles and equipment care.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior technicians in robust engineering practices.

Requirements

• Technician apprenticeship (or equivalent) and 5+ years of post-apprenticeship experience.
• Proven expertise in fault finding, root cause analysis, and test investigation.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, DAQ, and interfacing (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration).
• Mechanical build and test experience with motors, drives, and rotating equipment.
• Practical workshop skills using manual machinery with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Burgess Hill, UK.
