Salary: $164,652–$230,512.80 base pay for Washington applicants; ranges may differ at other sites.

develops reusable space vehicles and systems and is building TeraWave, a satellite communications network with optically interconnected LEO and MEO satellites.
What you will do
- Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal platforms running on multi-core SoCs.
- Develop device drivers and control, management, and data-plane functions for satellite RF transceivers, antenna systems, optical systems, customer terminals, and ground gateways.
- Lead feasibility studies, prototyping, software architecture, scalability, fault-tolerance, and recovery strategies for an assigned system area.
- Define performance KPIs and optimize compute, memory, storage, network, and I/O resources.
- Integrate software with hardware systems, troubleshoot issues using telemetry and debugging tools, and contribute to documentation, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
- Lead and mentor software engineers while promoting CI/CD, automated testing, TDD, and embedded software quality practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience with C/C++ on Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal platforms.
- Strong C++ object-oriented design and implementation skills, including embedded systems debugging with tools such as JTAG, SWD, CoreSight, Lauterbach/Trace32, J-Link, or J-Trace.
- Experience with standard peripherals and high-speed data-plane interfaces, including SPI, I3C, I2C, PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, Interlaken, or JESD.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, TDD, Agile or Scaled Agile methodologies, and mentoring engineers.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
Nice to have
- 7+ years of embedded software development experience for mission-critical systems.
- Experience with satellite communications, space-based networks, cellular wireless, or terrestrial telecommunications.
- Experience with software-defined radios, RF and antenna systems, optical transceivers, proprietary silicon drivers, formal verification, or radiation-hardened computing.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
