What you will do

• Design, implement, deploy, and operate features for the UDS platform and related core products.
• Integrate software with existing defense systems while maintaining interoperability and security protocols.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, product managers, designers, end users, and open-source communities.
• Own architecture decisions, resolve ambiguous requirements, and influence product direction based on user needs and system constraints.
• Produce design specifications, user manuals, maintenance guides, and other technical documentation.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, responding to incidents and troubleshooting production systems while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in a modern programming language, preferably Golang and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building and operating software products in collaborative Git and GitHub environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using OpenTofu or Terraform.
• Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, cloud architecture, and core Kubernetes concepts including controllers, operators, and CRDs.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States and participate in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience developing CLIs, Kubernetes Operators, or OpenTofu providers.
• Experience contributing to or collaborating with CNCF, ASF, OpenSSF, or other open-source projects.
