TL;DR

Manufacturing Systems NPD Engineer (Manufacturing Technology): Developing and transitioning manufacturing technologies and processes for new product introduction with an accent on pilot production, automation, tooling, quality, and cost efficiency. Focus on evaluating process performance, resolving manufacturability challenges, and coordinating multiple projects across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain.

Location: Onsite in Franklin, New Hampshire, Monday–Friday; regular work in the office with occasional presence on the manufacturing floor.

What you will do

• Develop engineering documentation, tooling concepts, mechanical and electromechanical designs, and technical inputs for pilot production.
• Support product and process quality by designing test methods, evaluating capabilities, and establishing manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with product engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturability and technical issues.
• Use the Stage Gate process to plan, prioritize, and execute pilot production activities across multiple projects.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, capacity, labor, equipment, and scheduling data to support budgets and decisions.
• Support production transitions, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, and technical reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing systems, or a related technical field.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, and/or controls engineering.
• Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with hardware/software integration, production assembly or fabrication, and manufacturing technologies such as digital manufacturing, IIoT, RFID, or AR/VR.
• Familiarity with industry standards, manufacturing safety, regulatory requirements, human factors, and ergonomics.
