Plumbing Engineer

What you will do

• Design domestic water, domestic hot water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and other plumbing and piping systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection, system layouts, and coordination.
• Produce plumbing construction documents and BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review construction documents, floor plans, specifications, and equipment details.
• Apply building codes and industry standards while preparing specifications, reports, narratives, and surveys.
• Coordinate plumbing designs with other internal engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a plumbing emphasis, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in plumbing and piping system engineering and design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit BIM software.
• Detailed knowledge of building codes and industry standards, plus engineering calculation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office-based environment in Chicago or Greenwood Village.
