Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Joliet, Illinois, United States; onsite role with after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities.

Hourly pay: $32.60–$34.50 USD.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, necessary maintenance, and repairs for building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Ensure building systems operate efficiently and support client and property safety.
• Respond to client requests, prioritize work orders, complete assigned work, and follow up on results.
• Minimize equipment downtime and maintain clear communication with clients.
• Respond to after-hours and weekend emergency requests while on call.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in building or property maintenance, or engineering experience.
• CFC certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Working knowledge of HVAC maintenance, electrical systems, plumbing, and other building mechanical equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and a clear motor vehicle record.
• Current authorization to work full time in the United States is required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Licenses required for the relevant building and jurisdiction.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• General handyman skills.
