Associate Data Engineer (Healthcare Data)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Candidates currently authorized under F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) are welcome to apply.

What you will do

• Partner with clients, implementation teams, and internal stakeholders to define data distribution requirements.
• Perform data analysis, profiling, mapping, validation, and output quality checks.
• Build and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and data distribution extracts with guidance from senior engineers.
• Optimize extract scripts for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Investigate data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and document workflows, mappings, and technical decisions.
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions while contributing to automation and process improvements.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent relevant academic, project, internship, or professional experience.
• Strong SQL programming skills, including query writing, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to data profiling, reporting, mapping, validation, or related data engineering work.
• Interest in healthcare data such as membership, claims, and provider datasets.
• Ability to analyze large or complex datasets, solve technical and business problems, and perform root cause analysis.
• Clear communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AWS, Azure, Databricks, Spark, or other cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, ETL, or data pipeline development.
