What you will do

• Underwrite, service, and grow a profitable property and casualty portfolio in line with established guidelines and authority levels.
• Develop broker partnerships and generate profitable new business through meetings, events, and industry conferences.
• Collaborate with specialty lines underwriters to identify and leverage multi-line opportunities.
• Assess classifications, rates, premiums, coverage forms, policy language, and exclusions for new business and renewals.
• Prepare referrals, monitor market and industry trends, and contribute to strategic projects.
• Mentor junior underwriters on technical underwriting matters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of property and casualty underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting large multinational corporations, including Property, Primary Casualty, and Excess Casualty lines.
• Established broker relationships and a demonstrated record of generating new business premium.
• Strong expertise in policy wordings, forms, applicable coverages, and relevant Canadian regulations.
• University degree; CIP or FCIP designation is preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management, business acumen, time management, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Background in manufacturing and/or construction underwriting.
